The fact is teams can't score against the Ravens.

I wondered why until I started looking into it. Their D-line is stout AF.

And this is what I found, their D-line might not be full of sack masters like our boys, but their line is built on size and physicality to stop the run. There is a reason why they are ranked 3rd in Run D when the 9ers are all the way down at 19th. Our D-line personnel types are totally different.

So, get this, how much do you think our DTs weigh? Take Buckner for example, the dude is 300 lbs. And their DTs? 325, 336, 340, 350.

And guess how much our own DEs weigh? Dee Ford 255, Bosa 266. And theirs? 287, 300.

While they might not be getting many sacks, they are nevertheless going to collapse the pocket in a big way. This is further compounded by the fact that the 9ers has the smallest/lightest O-line in the entire NFL. So, believe me, Jimmy G will be feeling it. But, that is not the end of the story, their back end aren't exactly scrubs neither which kind of explains when teams tried to throw on them they couldn't neither on top of not being able to run against those giants.

Pats have a so so line and pedestrian offense this year, had about the same amount of yards as ravens and it was 24-20 headed into the 4th. If you want to crown the ravens then crown em!

When did they play the Pats? A long time ago. Unless you have watched the games which I have, they have in fact improved substantially.

It is not about crowing them, but by the same token talking tough will get you nowhere neither. Put it this way, there is a reason why Vegas has come out with a 49ers +4.5 line.

Its moved to +6 now

See what I mean now?

One other thing, you know what makes things worse? People now know the 9ers can't deal with mobile QBs. Our fantastic D-line is only most effective when playing against pocket passers. If the QB gets out of pocket like Kyler Murray which Lamar Jackson will be doing in a huge way, to date Saleh still doesn't have an answer for it.

If the 9ers can trail behind the Cards with only 39 secs left on the clock, I hate to think what the Ravens might be able to do. If I am being honest, I believe we will be able to score more than the Texans and Rams, but I still smell at the very least a semi-blow out. I can only pray I am totally wrong about this.

The difference is those were divisional games. Those are always close.

Ask the Ravens.

And our offense without Kittle is the B team.

TBF losing JG last year lost us a winning season. But us fans know the class and heritage of this team. KS has brought it back. They fans are a direct reflection of the team. They're cocky because their team is. We are cool because Kittle is.

Also I think we may be more realistic because we as a fanbase have pretty much seen it all at this point. There have been some really high highs and really freaking low lows.
In all honesty I remember acting exactly like these fans when I thought we had the next hybrid QB of the future. And that guy just finished doing a workout at a high school in front of 15 people.

I think we should be more concerned about if we will score enough against them. They have a damn good defense too, the best we will have faced to this point. By far. On the road. In an extremely hostile environment. Baltimore has one of the low key best home field advantages there is when they are good. Luckily we have KS but if we make too many mistakes this will be a problem. Can we keep up on offense is what I'm actually more concerned with.

The most points thr Ravens can score at any given time is 7 or 8. Can we do enough on offense to keep pace with that? That's honestly the matchup I'm most excited to see.

I was about to bring it up myself.

And this is kind of my fear. If the field is too wet/muddy then those D-linemen will be pushing us around. If it is just dry enough I think we will be OK with our scheme.

Is simple physics. If is down to a bar fight scenario in the mud, their pure size and strength will without doubt out-physical the 9ers.

The 9ers are only physical on the defensive side of the ball. On the offensive side of the ball, we are essentially a finesse team that wins on clever schematics and speed. Our O-line will never be able to handle really physical dudes. Our O-line is primarily a zone blocking line, when it comes to pass protection we are pretty sh*t actually if I am being honest.

Niners finesse offense?
Is that what kittle said to baker while he was stiff arming him for a td with a popped knee cap and chipped bone?
Or deebo when he is constantly going over the middle?
You are way off on this one dude. If you are specifically talking about oline, they have been playing ever which way due to injuries- I think they are doing well and getting a healthy Staley back will help.

Damn, Ravens forum giving us no respect and saying it'll be an easy blowout. We can't stop the run and LJ will steam roll us.
Jackson runs right up the gut at times and is very physical. The past years have seen these flash and dash QB's get hurt or fizzle out. I for one like this kid at Arizona, Kyler Murray, he wants to stay in the pocket and has the illusiveness of Wilson in Seattle. Jackson is going to get popped sooner or later.

Wilson and Murray slide to protect themselves. Jackson plays like an RB with QB skills....he will have the shelf-life like an RB. Since he doesn't play with a Gore-like pad level, we are talking about a shorter term shelf-life.
...remember RB Ryan Mathews, 1st round draft pick for the Chargers? Great athlete, great college career, really high pad level, always getting hurt in the NFL. That's what will happen to Jackson before the end of next year.

I feel like the NFL is going to do everything they can to ensure that Week 17 is for the NFC West belt.

It may end up working out that way regardless, but i wish we didnt get the crap end of the stick vs Seattle

Gotta hit Lamar hard on the plays where he pretends to run. Trust the other 10 guys to get to the ball, but make him pay for his fakes. Same thing we saw against Kaep years ago.

I have NO idea why teams don't pound him when he's holding those fakes.. I watched some highlights of yesterday's games and some other ravens games this year and no one does it! Yesterday there was 3-4 plays where they could have hit him hard while he was running the RO but they were containing. It makes NO sense because if he hands it off, you can't get to the RB anyways? If you hit him every time, maybe they won't run those plays as much.. Can anyone answer this? I know I'm not smarting than NFL players and coaches.. But it makes 0 sense..
Watch him vs. the Bengals. Completely upright and mostly up the middle. Runs like a WR not like an RB. Doesn't slide. How is this guys career going to last?

This is why I keep saying we have seen this movie before

I have similar concerns. We are built to stop pocket passers and a power running game with Mark Ingram and Lamar Jackson can dominate us.

I think the rain is going to help us.

Its going to be a wet sloppy field.

We need to sell out to stop the run (7 in the box, have defenders in place to play the RB and the QB) on early downs and make Lamar make plays with his arm on a wet playing field. I also think we need to play DJ Jones/Solly/Julian Taylor more in the middle and keep AA, Bosa, DeFo on the ends.

Offensively we need another masterpiece from KS.
The 49ers need to see what the chiefs and browns did to beat the ravens.
